Poetry on the Plate: Celebrating an Anthology of Poems about SB Food & Drink

  • Black Sheep 18 East Cota Street Santa Barbara, CA, 93101 United States (map)

At the Black Sheep, current Santa Barbara Poet Laureate and Santa Barbara Independent Food Writer George Yatchisin will discuss A Feast for Santa Barbara: Poets Celebrating Food & Drink, the just-published poetry anthology from Gunpowder Press about food and drink in Santa Barbara County. The volume features over 100 poets ranging in age from sixth-graders to a 95-year-old. Yatchisin will be joined in conversation by Krista Harris, the founding owner/publisher of Edible Santa Barbara and one of the poets in the collection. Three other writers in the collection will read their poems.

Following their conversation (which will include a Q&A) we’ll adjourn for a reception and book-signing, where guests will enjoy appetizers from The Black Sheep celebrating SB produce and flavors and wines provided by Pali Wine Co. Every attendee will receive a copy of the anthology.

A portion of the proceeds from this will benefit the Santa Barbara Culinary Experience in partnership with The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts. Gratuity is included.
